Bev Dodd (e-mail)

Bev has been the Digital Library Manager since August 2000. She is responsible for the UCEEL team and the continued development of the digital library system and its content. Her role also includes the management and marketing of digitisation services to external organisations.
Bev has worked in various roles over the last 11 years including work for the Department of Employment Group (DFEE), Wolverhampton Public Libraries, Camden Public Libraries and as a Research Officer on a British Library funded project entitled 'Futures Together' for the Libraries Partnership -West Midlands. She has been an external assessor for the New Opportunities Fund and undertaken research on behalf of Re:Source (Council for Museums, Libraries and Archives). Bev holds a degree in Library and Information Studies and a masters degree in the Management of Learning Resources.

Nikki Griffin (e-mail)

Nikki has been in post since November 2000. Her role as a Digital Library Officer includes the development of system functionality, metadata standards, publicity and faculty liaison.
She has a good knowledge of existing service provision and user needs gained from over ten years experience of working in various Birmingham City University library roles. Nikki also has 10 years experience of user education in the areas of adult numeracy and literacy. She holds a degree in Fine Art and a postgraduate diploma in Library and Information Studies.

Beth is a part-time UCEEL Digital Library Officer. Her main responsibilities include Health and Community Care faculty liaison and assisting in the development of business services.
Prior to joining UCEEL, she was a hospital librarian and faculty member of the School of Nursing at Sharon Regional Health system (USA). She holds a Masters Degree in Library Science from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, USA.

Lee Jones (e-mail)

Lee joined the team in April 2001 and is the Principal Digital Library Assistant. He is responsible for managing the workflow of the digitisation process. This includes organising the creation of digital content, equipment maintenance and the application of metadata standards. He has over ten years experience working within Birmingham City University Library Services.

Erica Wine (e-mail)

Erica joined the UCEEL team in November 2002. She has always been attracted by the potential offered by the preservation of published material. She holds a HND in Publishing and a Master in library and Information Management. Previously she worked as Librarian Assistant in Kenrick Library, where she also specialised in repairing books. The Digital Library is a natural way forward for her interest. Her main responsibilities are digitalising publications by scanning and also ensuring that such information is presented as a whole item.

Michael Fisher (e-mail)

Michael joined the UCEEL team in September 2003 as a Digital Library Assistant. His main responsibilities include digitising a wide range of material including print and AV material along with standard metadata entry. He has experience of digitisation techniques using industry standard software such as Photoshop, Premiere, Avid Xpress, ProTools, Dreamweaver and Flash, as well as extensive knowledge of both analogue and digital photography.
Prior to joining UCEEL Michael worked for a large UK based retailer creating product information pages for the companies web site.

Simon Baker (e-mail)

|
Simon has co-ordinated the technical development of the Digital Library system since September 2001. He is currently employed by ICT as a Senior / Analyst Programmer and as the Deputy Team Leader of the Applications Development Team. Simon has been involved in the development of several central applications including QSP Financials, S@UCE and QBIS.
