Who can access collections on UCEEL? Access to most of the collections hosted on UCEEL
is password restricted in order to comply with UK copyright law
and respective rights holders' permissions. These copyright restrictions
mean that only current Birmingham City University staff and students are eligible to access
most of the collections. Future collections may be given open access
status. Any changes to password access will be posted on this page.
How can I access collections on UCEEL? If you are currently a Birmingham City University student or staff member
with a Birmingham City University library card you can access the collections by using
this card number and its PIN to log on. If you haven't yet joined
the library or your membership has expired, you can join up at any
Birmingham City University library issue counter.
Where can I access UCCEL's collections? UCEEL can be accessed from any location with
an Internet connection.
There are different options for
streaming or downloading audio visual files in order to facilitate
off campus access.
File Formats and Software Due to the nature of the collections hosted by
UCEEL, several file formats are in use. Please use the following
table to determine whether you have the correct software installed
on your computer.

Special software is available
at all main Birmingham City University libraries to help users e.g. text enhancement
and screen reading software (JAWS and Kurzweil).
